About Tube Rat
An independent runner game set on London's rail network. Free to play, and it works without signal.
You're a rat racing through the tunnels between real stations: dodge trains, jump gaps, slide under beams and collect cheese on the way. Journeys follow real routes and station names, so you can play along with the line you're riding.
How to play
- Swipe left or right to change lanes: one swipe, one lane. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or WASD.
- Swipe up to jump red barriers and gaps in the floor.
- Swipe down to slide under yellow beams. Swipe down in mid-air to drop fast.
- White headlights mean a train is coming at you. Red lights are parked trains. Change lanes early.
- Clip the side of something and you stumble. Stumble twice in five seconds and the run ends.
Ways to play
- Campaign: short journeys between stations, each worth up to three stars (finish, finish without a revive, finish without a knock). Stars open harder routes.
- My Journey: pick the stations you're travelling between and play that route.
- Endless: keep running for as long as you can.
- Daily: a new course every day, the same for everyone.
Power-ups
- Cheese Magnet pulls in nearby cheese.
- Brolly saves you from one crash or knock.
- Double Espresso lets you sprint through everything for a few seconds.
- Golden Ticket makes every cheese count twice.
Play without signal
Open the game once while you have signal and it saves itself to your device.
- iPhone: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Open the new icon once while you still have signal, because it keeps its own copy and its own progress.
- Android: open the browser menu and tap Install app, then open it once.
Cheese and the shop
You earn cheese by playing, from missions and from daily rewards. Spend it on mice, hats, outfits, power-up upgrades and extra route packs.
Ads are optional. You only see one if you choose to watch it: to revive once in a run, or to double the cheese from a run.
